Gay Blackstone Profile

Gay Blackstone is a television and stage producer, director, consultant, lecturer and author. She was president of the Academy of Magical Arts whose "clubhouse" is the world renowned Magic Castle in Hollywood. Gay was named one of "2007 Hollywood's Women of Distinction" by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. She is also the international ambassador of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Growing up in Fort Worth, Texas, Gay’s theatre experience began at the age of two. From there, she went on to perform with Andy Williams, Jim Nabors and as a “Gold Digger” on The Dean Martin show. After marrying Harry Blackstone, Jr., the two performed on stages across the country and around the world.

Gay is one of the first women to be accepted into the Magic Circle in London as a member of the Inner Circle with Gold Star. She is heavily involved with community activities, charitable events and organizations in Hollywood. Gay Blackstone is the Executive Producer of the network televised 2008 World Magic Awards, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris benefiting the charityFeed The Children.

Gay was executive producer of the Broadway show “Blackstone: The Magnificent Musical Magic Show”, which still holds the record as the longest running Magic Show in Broadway history. She has produced over 20 years of touring shows; more than 500 corporate and commercial shows and 23 hours of Network Television in the last five years (receiving a Telly Award).

Gay Blackstone is consulting and lecturing around the world about the magic she has both performed and lived. Gay continues to carry on the Blackstone name and through her numerous television shows she hopes to share the art of magic with the new generations.
